About Maya

 

Maya Argüello Gomez is a Lecturer in Law and a PhD Candidate at Swinburne University, where her research focuses on the use of Artificial Intelligence in Sentencing, with particular emphasis on serious violent offenders such as those charged with terrorism offences. Maya has research and working interest in the areas of human rights, national security and international and human rights law. Maya is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (UK) and Fellow for the Crime and Terrorism ThinkTank for Global Research Network (UK), the Australasian Law Academics Association (ALAA, International Law Association (ILA) and member of the Australian Society for Computers + Law (AUSCL)
